Another great day of racing, with many special moments. We enjoyed a clear blue sky over the fresh, smooth surface of Baskerville, with many competitors setting scintillating times.

Congratulations to all class winners, as all classes were hard fought. Liam Hooper took home fastest time of the day with a 58.21.

There were a few little offs but no damage, other than a few mechanical woes. The Roadkill award goes to Allan van Dulleman who blew a diff early on, only to race home in a borrowed car, grab a spare, and return and replace over lunchtime with the help of some competitors and other club members. He then went on with no sympathy for the replacement, weaker, item to dip under 60 seconds and claim the win in Class D (and second outright)!

Also worthy of mention is the Baskerville debut of two young club members, Max Watson and Tim Davidson. Both drove exeptionally well and improved significantly throughout the day; we’ll see a lot more of both in years to come.

A beautiful sunny day, a varied field of nearly 40 entrants, hard fought competition, great sportsmanship – the 2017 Domain Hillclimb had it all.

Congratulations to all competitors and official for another wonderful event. The tussle for first place was incredibly tight all day between Damien Moore in the RWD Escort, and John Davidson in his WRX. Congratulations to John for his well deserved win, with Damien taking second outright as well as first in class, plus receiving an award at our presentation dinner for being our Domain Legend – the entrant who has competed in the most Domain Hillclimbs (13).

Veloce Nota – Sep/Oct 2017

Congratulations all for another spectacular day of motorsport, with the best of Tasmanian weather to enjoy – glorious sunshine one minute, sleet the next! At least we had a beautiful venue, a varied and interesting field of cars (and a great classic car show), and abundant food and coffee to hand thanks to the wonderful staff at Lufra.

Thanks to all the officials for helping out on the day and making sure things ran smoothly, and hope to see you all again next year on the 18th of August 2018 at the Lufra.
