Domain Hillclimb 2015 Results

Thanks everybody who took part in this event, which seemed to benefit to a degree from the later date in that it wasn’t wet, but it did get a trifle windy in the afternoon.

It was great to see a number of people turn up early to help us with setup, particularly the bunting and straw bales, tasks which do take a significant amount of time. We also thank all competitors for chipping in with packup at the end of the day.

Special thanks to David Watson of Ambulance Private who provided generous sponsorship, and who has been a key supporter of the club over many years.

Entries are now open for the Domain Hillclimb.

Please note the date of Saturday October 17th – from now on the Domain will always be on or around this date due to the introduction of the Lufra to Lookout Hillclimb which will run in late August.

No magazine until August

Hello, club members and magazine readers. As your editor is leaving for the UK on Sunday 21 June, and as he has so far not received anything for the next mag anyway, the next issue of Veloce Nota will be postponed until August, if it appears at all.

Important dates

Baskerville Hillclimb

Our round of the State Hillclimb series is on 12 July at Baskerville, so get there if you can – either in a car or on foot to give a hand. If there are lots of people it makes it a much easier event to run.

Eaglehawk Neck Hillclimb Regularity

As you may have heard, we have been attempting for some months to get an event going at Eaglehawk Neck, on what is one of the best hillclimb roads in the state. There have been a large number of safety problems to deal with, and as a result the event will this year be run as a regularity event. Supp regs are in preparation at the moment, so watch the club web site.

The event will run on Saturday 22 August. And for this one we definitely need all the help we can get. For example, there has to be a person with a radio in every driveway on the road. And as you can see from the attached sketch map, there are a lot of driveways and a lot of course to look after.
